Bison (“the App”) is a privacy-first credential and ID card manager for iPhone. Your privacy is fundamental to our design. This policy explains what data the App handles and how it is protected.
Bison does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third parties. All data you enter — including credential details, ID card images, and notes — is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud Sync, in your personal iCloud account.
Your credentials, images, and notes are stored locally on your device using Apple’s secure SwiftData framework. We do not have access to this data at any time.
If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple’s private CloudKit database. Only you can access this data through your Apple Account. We have no access to your iCloud data. Please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy for details on how iCloud data is handled.
Bison requests camera access to scan ID cards and documents, and photo library access to import credential images. All images are processed and stored entirely on your device. Images are never transmitted to external servers.
Text recognition (OCR) on your scanned documents is performed entirely on-device using Apple’s Vision framework. No document images or extracted text are sent to any server.
Face ID and Touch ID authentication is handled entirely by Apple’s Secure Enclave on your device. Bison never accesses, stores, or transmits biometric data.
Bison offers an optional one-time premium purchase managed entirely through Apple’s App Store. Payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not receive or store any payment information.
If you enable expiration reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
Bison is not directed at children under 13. Since we do not collect any data, no children’s data is collected.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
